Reviving Your Wardrobe For Spring

I've been waiting patiently pretty much for what feels like the whole of April to be able to say spring has finally sprung. With a new season comes a new wardrobe and naturally we all look for those key pieces that will revive our wardrobes and put a spring in our step. I know I do anyways.

In todays post I've teamed up with Debenhams to show you some key spring hero pieces that are perfectly on trend for the months ahead and that also have great versatility. From floaty feminine dresses to floral kimonos these spring staples should take pride of place in your wardrobe to give it the spring revival it truly deserves. The best part is you can mix and match all of these pieces to create the perfect capsule wardrobe and who doesn't love the sound of that? I know I sure do.

With spring pieces in mind I set myself a challenge to step outside of my comfort zone and choose pieces that I may not necessarily instinctively pick and in today's post, I am showing you exactly how I'd style them on an everyday basis to hopefully give you some much needed spring time inspo.

The Statement Jacket

A jacket is such a key component of any outfit. As the weather gets warmer a jacket is your essential piece of outerwear that will not only complete your look but is also one that you can mix and match with so many pieces in your wardrobe.

I absolutely love the vibrancy of this pink textured jacket featured in today's post and think it looks amazing paired with white jeans and a fun slogan tee. You know me I do love a good slogan t-shirt. Ok let's face it slogan anything and I am pretty much sold to be honest. Whilst I've dressed this outfit down with a pair of trusted loafers for a smart-casual daytime look you could swap the flats for a pair of heels for a dressier look altogether.

If you are looking to inject some colour into your wardrobe this spring then this key piece is not only a statement in it's own right but can be paired with different varying shades of denim and even thrown over pretty summer dresses. When in doubt you can always pair your LBD with this AMAZING pink jacket. Don't you agree?

The Floaty Dress

It goes without saying that every girl must own a floaty dress in their spring wardrobe. Whilst I would usually go for a shorter style for the warmer months, since returning from my holiday to Marrakech I have really enjoyed experimenting with longer lengths such as this midi style. There is something so elegant and feminine about a midi dress and this yellow one just makes me feel like one giant ray of sunshine.

If you can't see sunshine, be your own sunshine is what I say. It's all too easy to get stuck in a rut of wearing dark, dull colours during the winter months which is why I love injecting lots of colour into my wardrobe this time of year. If you follow me on Instagram then you'll know I'm all for colour right now.

The easiest way to accessorise a dress like this is to add a cute sandal or in this case wedged espadrille and straw bag which seem to be getting a lot of air time this season. Not only is this outfit perfect for the city but you could also wear it on a summer break, where ever that may me. Cue lots of gelato is all I say.

The Floral Kimono

Florals for spring? Ground breaking. Whilst admittedly, I would usually opt for a floral dress to revive my spring wardrobe I thought I would shake things up a little by throwing a kimono in the mix. As much as I love the pink jacket featured above when the weather gets warmer realistically it's going to be too hot for me to wear. There's nothing like feeling suffocated in a jacket in 28 degree heat now is there. This is where the kimono comes in handy as it's so lightweight and takes up next to no space in your bag. Practical and stylish? Who knew.

Not only can a kimono be worn with jeans and a cami like in todays post, you could also pair is with a slogan tee, layer over your favourite summer dresses or indeed wear it as a dress itself. All you need is a good belt to cinch you in at the waist and you're good to go. It doesn't stop there, I know I'll be taking mine on holiday with me to wear as a beach cover up. I wasn't lying when I said all these pieces were so versatile.

So there you have it, three spring hero pieces all styled in my very own way that are 100% wearable everyday. I'd love to know which is your favourite look and if you plan on adding any of these hero pieces to your wardrobe this spring.
