From Desk To Do: Dressing For The Party Season

With party season well and truly upon us, December can pan out to be one busy month jam packed with events. Whilst I absolutely love a good party it's often easy to feel like you've got very little time to get ready especially if you are heading straight from work. Rather than lugging what feels like half your wardrobe along with the contents of your entire makeup bag into work do any of you favour an item that has day-to-night versatility?

In today's post I've teamed up with Debenhams to make dressing for those social soirees you may have coming up during the festive season with one party look in mind. With that said, I've focused on the idea of dressing from desk to do with ultimately one hero piece. I've made party dressing easy without compromising on style with an outfit that can be updated instantaneously with just a few killer accessories (cue the most amazing blush velvet heels, I mean just look at that bow). Let's not forget the power of a smokey eye or a fail safe red lip. All you'll need is a spritz of your favourite perfume, mine is currently Black Opium by YSL and you are ready to rock n rolla.

Whilst the LBD might be a popular choice for the party season and perhaps a fail safe option at that, I've come to love the versatility of a jumpsuit. If you find the right fit I feel a jumpsuit to be incredibly flattering and understatedly sexy whilst oozing with sophistication all at the same time. I mean who doesn't love dressing up and feeling the part? I know I sure do and for me a jumpsuit means business. This bardot jumpsuit I find particularly flattering on my figure because whilst I may have relatively slim shoulders I wasn't blessed in the boobie department unfortunately. So this off the shoulder number gives me a different kind of cleavage. The shoulder cleavage as I like to call it. Like what I did there?! With the party season in mind I think that your outfit should not only express the time of year but also have an element of fun to it. The frilled hem details are just that and also add a different element to the classic straight/wide leg of a jumpsuit.

Now onto the best part, the accessorises. If you can't go all out over the festive period then when can you aye? When I think of Christmas I think of luxe textures like velvet, metallics and glitter. As many of you may know by now I am a fan of pink hues so naturally I couldn't resist these amazing velvet heeled sandals. The added bow details make them feminine and cute all at the same time and I love the matching clutch bag too.

If you are struggling to think of ways that you can wear this jumpsuit in an everyday way or shall I say for the desk part of desk to do, I'd suggest simply pairing it with an oversized jumper and flat loafers. Come evening time, you can swap the jumper for faux fur or leather jacket and heels and really are desk to do ready. So if you have any events coming up over the next few weeks hopefully this post can be the inspo you may need if you're stuck for ideas. Will any of you opt for a jumpsuit over an LBD this party season? I'd love to know.
