Styling Trainers For Autumn with Gola

It feels like an absolute lifetime since I last posted on my blog. I apologise for my absence. In all honesty I was feeling a little uninspired. It happens to the best of us, a creative block so to speak but I'm back with a post talking all things GOLA. Specifically, how I plan on wearing my trainers this Autumn/Winter.

Once upon a time, trainers to me symbolised P.E. and I loathed this period of my timetable at school. Don't even get me started on physical education as an extra curricular activity. As such, I favoured wearing a dolly shoe over a pair of trainers any day. Fast forward a decade and trainers have become a fashion statement in their own right. Paired with feminine dresses or adding casual vibes to a tailored look the love for trainers is one that cannot go unnoticed. When I say trainers and suits I don't mean the clumsy, bulky looking kind you see commuters wearing on their way to work (which quite frankly makes me shudder a little inside) but rather the fashion trainer as I like to call them.

I would say that I've always favoured a more feminine look when it comes to my own personal style. With that said, I do like to throw in a statement accessory now and again that diverts my look away from being too girly. For me, this is why the trainer is a perfect way to dress down any look and give it an instant off-duty feel. For the purpose of today's post I'm showing you how I would wear these Gola trainers in an everyday way whilst the weather is still relatively mild for this time of year at least.

One Autumn hue I just can't seem to get enough of right now is mustard. I wouldn't have expected to love mustard as much as I do but it really does make any outfit POP. My favourite colour combos to pair with mustard are definitely navy and grey as they really do give it that truly Autumnal feel which is so fitting for this time of year. In today's post I really am going all out with the mustard vibes. Mustard on mustard, who would have thought it?!

As I've gotten older I really am all about comfort which is why I'm embracing trainers and wearing them on a day to day basis a lot more. Are you the same? When it comes to trainers, you can stick to a classic colour way in white or black or really experiment. Whilst you really can't go wrong with a classic pairing I do love playing around with colour. I love these Marine Blue Gola Specialist Trainers and how cute is this pink pair? You can also see the full  collection of Gola Specialist trainers here which are the particular style I'm wearing in this post.

This post is a prime example of how I would take a typically girly ruffle polka dot playsuit and dress it down with a pair of trainers without compromising on style. There's often a notion that trainers can make an outfit look too casual and whilst this is not something that you would probably get away with wearing to work it's perfect for anything in between. That's just my opinion anyways and like I said I really am all about the comfort these days.
