Saying Goodbye To Summer

As I reach a sad realisation that summer is almost over, it looks like it's time to pack away those pretty summer dresses and replace them with layers. Even writing this makes me sad as I am hands down a summer kind of girl through and through. With the weather taking a massive turn to GRIM city (with the exception of this weekend's crazy heatwave) it looks like transitional dressing is on the cards. This might be music to some peoples ears but personally I don't enjoy wearing coats all too much.

With that said, if I was going to showcase one last summer dress on my blog it had to be this gorgeous Topshop ruffle number. I mean how cute right? You can probably gather from my previous post that I am a massive fan of wrap style dresses period. I honestly think they flatter all body shapes and genuinely make me feel amazing, plus they require very little styling whatsoever. As the weather gets a little cooler they are great for layering with a cosy knit which means girls we can still get away with bare legs for a few more weeks at least. Personally, I'd switch my sandals or mules for an ankle boot for a more transitional autumn feel.

As summer draws to a close, I can't quite believe we've reached the end of August already. I feel like I'm starting to sound a little like a broken record but where is the time going?! It's bordering on scary. Anyone else feel the same? Whilst this may not have been the best summer on record for me I won't let it dampen my autumn spirit. To be honest, as much as I prefer dressing for summer there are things that I get excited about come fall. Pumpkin lattes for one, autumn leaves, Halloween and layering jumpers over dresses just not jumpers under thick coats making you feel like one giant, squidgy marshmallow.

This dress is super cute, feminine and suitable for pretty much any occasion. It honestly requires next to no styling and can be transformed with just a simple shoe change. It was comes in green which you can see here and you'll be pleased to know an easy way to transition it nicely into autumn is to layer a  polo neck jumper underneath. You know me, I sure do love a touch of colour in the colder, gloomier months so this really will be perfect to add a bit of energy to an autumnal outfit. Don't you agree?
