Summer Staples With ASOS

With Summer well and truly upon us, there's no time like the present to show you some key pieces I have been loving this season.

So unless you've been living under a rock, you'll know that gingham is everywhere this season. I can only speak for myself in saying that I've definitely gone overboard with this picnic blanket print but I definitely have zero regrets. Do you? Despite being a statement print, I really have been loving the versatility of gingham lately and it really has taken the fashion world by storm. With such a trend led piece, hopefully you are not sick of the sight of gingham by now. I had promised myself I wouldn't add any more gingham to my wardrobe this summer but that's before I laid eyes on this gorgeous ASOS midi skirt

Whilst I have invested in a lot of gingham for summer, a pastel hue in this print is something I was seriously lacking in my wardrobe. If you've read my blog for a little while then you'll know by now that I am a little bit fond of pastel coloured everything. I just can't seem to help myself. This ASOS gingham midi skirt  from their summer holiday collection  really was love at first sight and it couldn't be more summery if it tried. The colour, the style and frill hem detail had me instantly sold and surprisingly I'm loving the longer length. Not only is it the perfect piece for sunny days in London, I can also see this coming away with me on holiday, paired with a white bandeau bikini top or swimsuit.

As I'm simply loving off-the-shoulder everything right now, I couldn't help but pair this skirt with something you guessed it....off-the-shoulder. This crochet bardot top is so summery that it is the perfect piece to pair with anything from floral skirts to denim cut off shorts. You could probably throw this top at any print and it would do the job of complimenting it nicely. There's nothing that says summer more than a touch of crochet either. Now get me to a beach is all I say.

I always used to be so reluctant to wear midi skirts, mainly because I had this idea in my head that they weren't flattering. Fast forward a few seasons and I really have been experimenting more with this length and dare I say loving it too. Can you believe it?! I've adopted the notion that if you love it enough you should wear it and I really love how feminine and fun this gingham midi skirt is. Plus this yellow hue is one that I don't have too much of in my wardrobe right now either. It's a win-win situation if you ask me.

I could have paired this outfit with a heel or pair of wedges but realistically that isn't very me and the purpose of this post is to show you exactly how I'd style this outfit in an everyday way. Hence why I have chosen to opt for these flat tan sandals. I don't know about you but when it reaches high thirties in the U.K. and we all go into melt down, I want a comfortable footwear option that will take me from the gym to meetings or brunch with friends. Let's face it you really can't go wrong with a tan sandal option and these are so affordable too! They also come in four other colours which you can see here

So there you have it, a simple way to create a summery outfit that's both affordable and on trend with just three items. You all know how much I love a good cost-per-wear ratio so with that in mind I plan to get lots of wear out of these pieces individually over the coming weeks. What's your favourite piece from this outfit? I'd love to know.
