Adding The LRD To Your Wardrobe This Summer

Red has definitely become the undisputed colour of the season and is certainly a hue that deserves a place in your wardrobe this summer. SS17 catwalks paved the way for the it colour of the season with designers from Oscar de la Renta to Osman and Valentino providing plenty of inspiration on how this vibrant hue should be worn this summer. Adding a pop of red to your wardrobe creates a bold yet versatile look that will certainly inject some new energy into your SS17 wardrobe.

This red dress is one of my favourite pieces of the season. Forget LBD it's all about the LRD this summer and personally it's music to my ears. I actually got this dress towards to end of last year and it came in handy over the festive period but since red has been seen everywhere for summer, I couldn't help but dig it out. It's such a versatile piece too. Naturally you'd probably expect to pair this dress with some heels for a dressier look but I wanted to do the opposite of that and really dress it down. So instead I swapped the heels for a pair of adidas sliders which I just cannot seem to get enough of right now. Not to mention, I'm all about the casual vibes right now. I had originally intended to layer a slogan tee underneath (shock horror) but the weather as of late has been far too hot for that resulting in me baring more skin than usual.

I know that top-to-toe red isn't for everyone. Some people may shy away from this hue and find it simply a bit too daring. If this is the case then you can choose seperates that work with your existing wardrobe instead. Personally, I love pairing red and white together for an outfit that really pops but equally red looks just as good with your more classic shades of denim. What ever you choose, adding red to your wardrobe this season, will really create that effortless laid back style which is so perfect for off duty dressing. Simply swap your staple white tee for a red one which is also the easiest (and cheapest) way to wear the trend this season. Proof that you really don't have to break the bank to dabble in a key summer trend.

Whilst wearing red is a statement in itself, I love the contrast of adding a bold print. Cue this amazing leopard print bag from Hill and Friends which is every bit as amazing as it looks. Have any of you added a pop of red to your wardrobe this season? If you are looking for a red dress that is comfortable, flattering and incredibly versatile then this one could well be for you. You'll probably also be pleased to know that it will only set you back £39 which I think considering how much I love it, is pretty good value for money. It also comes in black too which you can see here
