Denim, Slogan Tees and A Touch of Florals

This outfit basically epitomises my spring/summer uniform. Florals dressed down with fun slogan tees and layered with some good old trusted denim. A classic combination that you just cannot beat really. Whilst I might chop and change various aspects of this outfit in terms of print or texture, I'll always come back to a combination of this kind. There's no denying it's both faultless and timeless.

I picked both the t-shirt and skirt up on a whim when in Topshop a few weeks ago without even trying them on. Honestly, there is something I find a little daunting about heading to the changing rooms in the Topshop in Oxford Circus. Does anyone feel the same? Luckily, these two pieces made it into my wardrobe and not back to the exchange and refund desk. I think the slogan tee dresses this floral skirt down perfectly, making it such a lovely ensemble for a summery daytime look. I also think it has an uncanny resemblance to a Gucci version without being an obvious rip off.

With that said, I have dressed this skirt up for more of an evening look. Swap the slogan tee for a silky black lace trim cami or even a bralet and you've got yourself a summery evening ensemble. Perfect for dinner or roof top drinks now that it's finally summer. Perhaps minus the furry loafers, which my Grandma just can't seem to get her head around. Her exact words were "You're wearing slippers outside?". If they are good enough for Gucci, they are certainly good enough for me. I wish they were actually Gucci but for £24.99 you really can't complain now can you.  You can see them here

With this weekend set to be an absolute scorcher, I hope you all have a lovely (sunny) time in the sun with lots of pimms, ice cream and barbecue food. As always you can find links to all the items I am wearing by clicking on the images below.

  2. Oh I really wanted to buy this skirt today but all that they had left was a size 12, which was far too big for me. So sad! Love this look, it is so easy going and fun!
    Perfect from head to toe!
