72 Hours In Malaga

After being whisked away to sunny Malaga with 15 other influencers by a phone accessories company called OtterBox I thought I would share with you a few of my outfits and photos from my recent trip. I really cannot believe how much we managed to cram into our 3 day trip which is why for the purpose of this post I thought I would share everything with you. If you don't like tapas, sangria, ice cream or cocktails I suggest you look away now.

Where we stayed: Rancho del Ingles, Alhaurin, de la Torre, 29130, Malaga, Spain.

As you can probably tell from the photos to follow this ranch located in the Spanish countryside boasted an abundance of rustic charm. Many couples even holiday here to tie the knot so as you can imagine it's one beautiful location. Less than 30 minutes from the airport, this beautiful ranch was an oasis of calm; secluded but not isolated and with photo opportunities at every corner. Cue the inflatable flamingo float.

On our first night we ventured to a roof top bar located in the centre of Malaga where we enjoyed freshly made mojitos and an array of Spanish tapas. With an average temperature of 32 degrees (YAY!) be sure to pack a cardigan or light jacket if you're planning a trip because the evenings do get a little chilly. A mistake I definitely made on the first night especially as I was wearing this very light wrap dress from Pretty Little Thing

Starting off our first day with breakfast at the ranch before a jam packed day full of activities. I can't tell you how nice it was to wake up to such tranquility as well as avocados picked from the very ranch we were staying at. As a self confessed avocado lover this was music to my ears and it really doesn't get any fresher than that. Usually at home I rarely have time to enjoy my breakfast especially if I am on the go so this was such a nice treat, even if it meant a 7:30am wake up call. There is something about being on holiday that makes me just want to eat fresh fruit, greek style yoghurt and muesli every morning. Is anyone else the same? That and a cheeky freshly baked croissant too.

Our first port of call was Frigiliana. Also known as the most beautiful village in Spain or "the white village" with breathtakingly beautiful views for miles. The white wash walls and cobbled streets of Frigiliana reminded me so much of my trip to the Greek island of Mykonos. With lots of cute shops to stop off at you can be sure to pick up a souvenir or two to take home with you. Frigiliana is surrounded by a vast natural park which is home to several hiking trails so I suggest packing some comfortable walking shoes. My suede backless mule sandals didn't really serve me well when trying to climb the steep cobbled steps of Frigiliana. An epic fail on my behalf.

From Frigiliana we took a short, air conditioned bus journey for a boat trip excursion. I was so happy that this had been arranged for us as I absolutely love boat trips of any kind.

Lets face it, it wouldn't be a worthwhile trip abroad if it didn't involve a boat trip of some kind. Am I right?! I absolutely love boat trips and sailing on a catamaran was an absolute treat and also an opportunity to soak up the sea air and beautiful views. I mean just look at those views taken from the boat! It really doesn't get much better than that. It's definitely not something you see everyday in London that's for sure.

One thing I would highly recommend if you are planning on visiting Malaga is a trip to Granada to visit Alhambra. Much of this vast fortress-turned-palace requires pre booked tickets but there are free areas too, starting with the ominous entrance gate the Tower of Justice. The views are simply breath taking and the flower gardens definitely create several photo opportunities. With a few lovely cafes, you can have an iced coffee pitstop or some cheeky gelato (or both!).

You can check out the OtterBox Instagram account or the #OtterBoxOoO hashtag to see what myself and the other influencers who also came on this press trip got up to. So far there's 156 posts and counting with heaps of beautiful content.

Whilst my trip to Malaga was a working one, it was nice to have some down time in between daily excursions and dinner planned by OtterBox. As the ranch we were staying at boasted a swimming pool with several inflatable floats might I add, it would have been rude not to take a dip. What can I say the giant inflatable unicorn got the better of me on this occasion.

After a quick outfit change, not even allowing myself time to dry my hair we headed for a typically Spanish evening of you guessed it...tapas and sangria. Could you imagine my excitement? Well I will tell you now I was very excited. I'm definitely not one of those individuals to go abroad and order chips. Don't get me wrong there's nothing wrong with a side order of fries but I love experiencing the culture a country has to offer. So with that said, I did just that and ate all the tapas, paella and drank all the sangria I could get my hands on.

Naturally, with the first mention of tapas I got out my sassy Spanish lady emoji dress for the occasion. This floaty number definitely served me well as a lot of food and sangria was consumed. When you thought five small courses weren't enough, ten more appeared out of nowhere. Each dish was just as delicious as the next. So much so I left with a ginormous food coma and definitely read for bed.

Whilst I cannot find this red floral midi dress online anywhere, I did pick it up from the Bershka on Oxford Street just over a week ago for a bargain of £19.99! I kid you not. I can however tell you that you can check out these amazing lace up sandals I am wearing above here.

Sangria, tapas, piƱatas and good company. The perfect way to end a beautiful evening in Spain in the company of some lovely influencers, including two of my favourite girls Sinead and Jess. After spending a good few days in their company it's safe to say I miss them already.

On the last night we were treated to another amazing dinner on the ranch consisting of a moroccan theme. Think slow roasted tagines, aubergine dips and a number of exotic North African dishes full of flavour, aroma and spice. After holidaying in Marrakech last September I can whole heartedly say that all of the food prepared by the chef was as good if not better than that I had in Morocco. Minus the five day stomach bug might I add.

Naturally being away in the sunshine with plenty of tapas, sangria and gelato has left me with the travel bug. Three days simply wasn't enough and I am keen to book a summer holiday with immediate effect. After absorbing the amazing culture that Spain has to offer I definitely concluded that as a country, it's certainly underrated and I'm definitely keen to explore other parts and what it has to offer.

Whilst I feel like this post has been a definite dedication to all things gingham, I thought I would end it with some airport attire because who doesn't love a comfy, relaxed ensemble when they are travelling? I know I certainly do. I'll even go as far to tell you that my beautiful white Topshop shorts  didn't stay so white. I somehow managed to get a massive green stain on the back from the salmon and seaweed salad I bought from the Pret-a-Manger at Gatwick airport. It's safe to say I am just far too clumsy to wear white.

Last but by no means least, I would like to say a very special thank you to all the girls at OtterBox and We Are Social for arranging such a lovely, memorable trip for us all. As well as everyone at Rancho del Ingles who equally made our stay so special and welcoming. A slightly different post from me but I hope you have enjoyed reading it. I would love to know in the comments below.
