Think Pink x Ravel SS17

Pink is definitely the colour to be seen in this season. The key is contrasting those pink hues which is great for me as naturally I am a little (ok very) pink obsessed. Feeling extra brave? Throw in a pop of red to really get heads turning. Just a little word of warning, this post contains a serious amount of pink.

I don't know about you, but I've really started to think seriously about my spring/summer wardrobe. With so many trends I'm keen to experiment with this season (pink being one of them of course) I've slowly been adding new pieces to my wardrobe with this in mind. With that said, I had a realisation this weekend as I was getting ready to go out for a friends birthday. Granted I have lots of clothes but what my wardrobe is seriously lacking is those smart-casual pieces, a dress code that I can never quite nail on the head. So naturally when I stumbled across this amazing fuchsia pink skirt recently I thought it would be the perfect smart-casual piece and also one I would get tonnes of wear out of. A piece I could dress both up and down, what's not to love?! After all, there's nothing like a cheeky bit of pink to make the boys wink.

For the purpose of today's post, I have dressed this ra-ra skirt up with these AH-MAZING lace up caged heels from the Ravel SS17 collection. Granted there's quite a lot of leg on show but there is something about a leg lengthening heel and short skirt combo that makes you feel all kinds of confident. Dare I say sexy. Don't you agree? Now the great thing about these heels is they look fab paired with your favourite party pieces but also a great fitting pair of jeans. They also come in an amazing red snake print, which you can see here but personally you can't beat a black heel. Suitable for any occasion and one that can literally be paired with anything.

Pink in my opinion is fun, girly and feminine and should be worn with confidence. The texture and ruffles in this pink ra-ra skirt make this outfit playful which is mainly why I was so attracted to it. So with that in mind, this outfit should be worn with a subtle confidence and there's nothing like a statement heel to elevate your confidence as well as your height. Whilst I'll be the first to admit I love the comfort of a trainer it's not a shoe that I feel overly sexy in. When I venture on a night out a heel is a fail safe option for me and has the power of instantly boosting ones confidence and these caged heeled sandals are no exception. Can you tell I'm every inch in love with them?!

Granted this outfit is VERY pink but you can't beat the cotton candy hue and I absolutely love the play on shades and textures. Not to mention this outfit sits perfectly against the backdrop of the Palm House at Kew Gardens. Which FYI was like a billion degrees. If you haven't made a trip here I urge you all to go ASAP! It's just as beautiful as it looks in photos but a little pre-warning it's very humid. I'm praying that the humidity is not too obvious in my frizzy hair.

Heels aside, is pink a shade you'll be wearing lots of this summer? If you're not quite brave enough to wear a fuchsia pink skirt why not subtly incorporate it into your everyday style with a fun slogan t-shirt like this one here. That way you'll be nailing two big summer trends in one: slogan tees and the key colour to be seen in this season. Think pink girls!
