The Ultimate Christmas Party Dress

In true Christmas spirit, I bring to you in today's post one VERY red dress. With Christmas day just two days away it seemed rude not to pay tribute to the festive season and what better way to do this than with a (large) splash of red. If you're not so keen on red then I would suggest looking away now as this post contains you guessed it, a lot of red.

The a-line dress is a style I find flattering on most body shapes. Generally, nipping you in at the smallest part of your waist and flaring out it's perfect for this time of year. I say that because it is Christmas after all and I'm sure many of you have indulged a little. I mean it would be almost considered a crime to not have had a mince pie or toffee nut latte by now. All the deliciousness associated with the festive period and believe me I've already had my fair share. With that said, dressing and feeling comfortable this time of year can be difficult especially if you're a few pounds heavier than you'd care to be. That's where the a-line dress saves the day. Fear not because if you love this one but not the colour it also comes in black. Which admittedly is probably more of a classic wardrobe staple. But with it being Christmas and all, I couldn't resist a little bit of red.

One thing I knew when I initially tried this dress on is that I wanted to play around with the styling. It's so easy to just throw on a dress and feel great but I saw that this particular one had endless styling potential. That's where this silver roll neck top comes in. I appreciate it may not be to everyones taste. I do look at these photos and think I sort of resemble something that covers the turkey just as it goes into the oven on Christmas day, but hey that's ok. What I like most about this outfit is the contrast of the red and silver. The colours both compliment each other so well and make this red dress really pop. I'm looking forward to playing around a little bit more with the styling of this dress and think that both a roll neck and crisp white shirt would look just as good. If you're feeling sexy, worn on its own will go down a treat I'm sure.

So there you have it, one very red dress but pretty perfect for this time of year if you ask me. You never know I could even give Mrs. Claus a run for her money or step in as Santa's little helper. With Christmas just days away here's wishing you all a very happy and merry Christmas. I hope you eat all the mince pies, pigs in blankets and Lindt chocolate humanly possible because there's still time to slip into that dress for New Years Eve. Who knows, maybe this little red a-line dress could be a contender?!
