How To Style A Dungaree Pinafore Dress For Winter

It might not be bare legged weather anymore, but I couldn't not share these photos with you. On my recent hunt for new places to shoot outfit photos, I stumbled across this very picturesque mews just a stones throw from South Ken. I love Autumn at the best of times but just look at those leaves, could it be anymore Autumnal? It's often astonishing how beautiful Mother Nature can be. With that said, today's post is all about styling the dungaree pinafore dress this Winter. Swap the bare legs for a pair of black opaque tights and you've got yourself a pretty wintery outfit.  One that's wholeheartedly appropriate for a trip you may be planning to Winter Wonderland or Ice Skating at Somerset House. Can you tell I'm keen for all the Christmas festivities?!

They key to updating this dress from summer to winter is adding a polo neck or thin knitted jumper underneath. Not only will it do the job of keeping you warm but it will also look like a more wintery ensemble. I've gone for a rich burgundy roll neck jumper which is a colour I love wearing during the winter months. It also pulls out the colours perfectly from the embroidered rose detailing on the front of this pinafore dress

If your not feeling a heeled boot, simply opt for any flat ankle boot which will make this more of an everyday look. I went for these studded beauties because not only are they super comfortable to wear everyday, I just love how striking they are. They sure do the trick of adding some badass vibes to any outfit. I also have these Topshop studded boots which are a great flat alternative.

So there you have it, an easy way to style a dungaree pinafore dress this winter. I must say I am pretty sad that it is no longer bare leg weather. I've always had a love-hate relationship with black opaque tights but with that said I won't let it stop me from wearing this gorgeous roll neck and pinafore dress combo anytime soon.
