I've always been a fan of culottes. I bought my first pair two summers back and was surprised at how many compliments I received when I wore them. I say this because I know that some people wouldn't be seen dead in them. What I particularly like is they flatter the smallest part of your waist and are generally a looser fit everywhere else, making these trouser alternatives super comfortable. I picked these up in Zara on a whim in between events last week (note to self one should not go shopping to kill time) when I was on Oxford Street and have since worn them twice already. The colour makes them really summery with the added benefit of not sticking to you which is the last thing I want in an English summer, or when I'm melting on the central line. If you live in London then you'll know exactly what I mean. I really like that these trousers can be worn in an everyday casual way but also dressed up with a heel making them also perfect for a night time look. When I first saw these trousers, I did not have a summery ensemble in mind at all. I actually envisioned wearing these with an oversized grey jumper and a pair of heeled ankle boots when the weather gets cooler. What's the general consensus on pleated trousers? Will you be adding a pair to your capsule wardrobe soon? Perhaps this pink pair might not be for you but a black pair could be a great alternative to a pair of jeans. I don't know about you but I sure do like to mix things up once in a while. Below are a selection of my favourite pleated trousers for you to have a browse of if you so fancy.
