The Embroidered Jacket You Need In Your Life This Summer
When this gorgeous embroidered jacket arrived in the post last week I almost went weak at the knees. I mean just look at that pretty detailing. The navy and white embroidery also reminds me of the beautiful blue and white streets of Mykonos, which sure isn't doing anything for those holiday blues. Worn here with a classic a-line denim skirt, this outfit is perfect for those days where you want to nail the smart-casual dress code on the head. That said, I really like dressing down beautiful statement pieces like this and making them more appropriate for everyday wear. Rather than going for a black ankle boot, I opted for a more summery alternative. These beige suede boots are my summer staples and have not left my feet over the past few months. They are also a great alternative to sandals, if your having those days where your not feeling like showing your feet to the world. If this colour isn't for you, fear not as they also come in black which you can see here.
I don't know about you but the minute a ray of sunshine appears, I find myself heading straight to the nearest Starbucks and subconsciously ordering a coffee frappuccino. To this day and one too many frappas later, the baristas still cannot spell my name right which always seems to make me laugh. Who knew the name Gemma would be such a hard one to grasp. Does anyone else get this when ordering their favourite drink at Starbucks or am I the only one? This got me thinking that in any normal circumstance, spelling someones name incorrectly can often feel somewhat offensive. In Starbucks terms, the smilies seem to cancel this out. I think moral of the story here is perhaps I should spend less money on coffee even if it does act as a blog post prop. Wishful thinking perhaps?! Starbucks coffee aside, I would love to know your thoughts on this outfit, particularly the embroidered jacket which I am pretty much obsessed with.
