Espadrilles: The Sunny Season's Alternative To Winter Flats

Summer marks a change in our typical footwear choices. Espadrilles in my eyes are the sunny season's alternative to ballet flats or trainers meaning they are a good all-round staple. When it comes to summer footwear I always struggle with finding shoes that I like. Perhaps it's a certain reluctance to say good bye to my trusted ankle boots for a few months. Who know but I usually find fault somewhere or other when it comes to purchasing my staple summer shoes. After deciding I wanted a pair of espadrilles for my recent trip to Mykonos, I stumbled upon these Public Desire gems. At just under £25 a pair, I thought it would be wise to invest in two staple colours that would go with everything. The nude pair as worn in today's post and a trusted black pair which would hands down compliment everything I currently have in my capsule summer wardrobe. I'm not joking when I say these espadrilles are probably the most comfortable shoes I own. It literally feels like your walking on cushions which was a relief when worrying about breaking these shoes in for the first time. The blister dread, we've all experienced it and avoid it like the plague.

Paired here with this gorgeous embroidered top I recently picked up in Zara and cut off denim shorts (excuse the flash of bum cheek) this summery outfit is cute yet comfortable. So much so that this outfit was perfect for walking the streets of Mykonos town. With that said,  it's definitely something that I could easily wear in London, especially with the hot weather we have been experiencing as of late. Are espadrilles a summer shoe you can see yourself wearing? If your not a fan of the ones I'm wearing in today's post, I have selected a few of my very affordable favourites which you can see here, here and here
