London Fashion Week kicked off today with breakfast at The Kurt Geiger store in Covent Garden, where I was welcomed with an array of delicious pastries and columbian coffee, which was exactly what I needed after the 7am early morning start. After dashing off to my first show of the day (in stiletto heels might I add) Brewer Street Car Park was chock-a-block with press, photographers and bloggers alike queuing for entry to the J. JS Lee A/W16 show at 11am. The collection boasted a Victorian colour palette of deep scarlet with mustard yellow, contrasted against monochrome hounds tooth. Commanding authority, masculine tailored suits were positioned alongside two-piece skirt suits and dresses featured cinched in waists and voluminous skirts. With contemporary utilitarian workwear being a fundamental element of this collection, I must say I loved everything but then again I am a massive fan of tailoring. With an hour to spare, I took some street style photos before my next show at 1pm which was Edun Choi. With the focus on tailoring, I particularly loved the oversized jackets and turned up trouser cuffs made more feminine with pastel hues.
In between shows, I took a breather and a moment to rest my aching feet at The Apartment which is ultimately a very glamorous lounge with fancy refreshments and lots of instagrammble food, what I like to call a bloggers paradise. I'm talking macaroons, pick and mix and Krispy Kremes. It was ultimate sugar heaven. The saying 'a moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips' definitely went out the window this afternoon. Whilst here, I treated my nails to a lick of Essie paint and a messy up do from the lovely ladies at Mark Hill hair. Spoilt rotten is definitely an understatement.
Despite the heels, I opted for comfort in terms of my outfit. These Urban Outfitters trousers are an absolute dream and you can't go wrong with a staple white shirt. What makes this one unique is the asymmetrical back. You can always rely on good old Zara for that statement piece. The glittery socks definitely went down a treat for street style photographers as well as keeping my feet that little bit warmer. A win-win situation if you ask me. With that said, I would love to know what you guys thought of today's look?
I have documented day one of LFW over on my snapchat, so if you wish to check it out my username is gemmatalbot91. Day two of LFW is a busy one for me where I have the Sibling show as well as backstage access at David Koma. I think some definite beauty sleep is needed.
Special thanks to Vita Coco and Proper Corn for keeping me fuelled for Day One of LFW. These snacks are so perfect when your on the go. As always todays outfit details can be found below.
