How To Dress Down A Faux Leather Pencil Skirt

What I'm Wearing:
Top | Topshop
Skirt | Missguided
Clutch | Zara
Necklace | Stella & Dot
Trainers | Adidas

A faux leather pencil skirt is something that I lacked in my life. On the Missguided website, this skirt is styled as a more going out option, but I wanted to dress this down and make it appropriate for everyday wear. In today's post, I've done exactly that and paired it with my brand spanking new adidas superstars. To really make this daytime appropriate, my trusted Topshop breton stripe knit had to get a look in. When in doubt, get the striped jumper out! Overall, I must say I really like this look and better still I could dress this skirt up if I wanted to. The best part is that it's now a mere £12.50 in the sale and worth every penny in my opinion.

As of late, I have noticed that I am thinking more carefully about my clothes purchases and going for versatility and practicality over things that I may love at first sight. Do any of you feel the same way? As a lover of fashion and clothes in general, my wardrobe is becoming a bit of a catastrophe and I really do need to condense it somehow. Perhaps my subconscious is playing tricks on my consciousness and it's finally time to become more sensible with my outfit purchases......who knows. With that said, I feel like if I'm going to get more wear out of something, I'm definitely more inclined to buy it. After all, there's something so satisfying about a good cost-per-wear ratio but I must say I'm quite liking this new frame of mind. Here's hoping this new year sees me wasting less money on clothes that I never wear.
